Personal Work: If You Go to Madison

Last week, I visited Madison, Georgia for the first time, and these illustrations are meant to convey what I saw and felt during the afternoon I spent there. You can see more pictures after the jump.

Madison is a small town located sixty miles east of Atlanta. During the Civil War, the Union general, William T. Sherman, decided not burn it during his "March to the Sea," so it is now known as the town too pretty to burn.

I thought this piece was appropriate for this week's Illustration Friday theme because it took a lot of fuel to get there!

  6. I like the story telling aspect. It's simple and sweet. The blue-ish colors give an impression of long ago and the acorn is so cute!
